We seek a superstar who has the following attributes:

• Experience & Expertise: Proven background in youth development, employment services, education, or social work. You understand the challenges facing young people and know how to translate engagement and support into measurable outcomes.
• Mentoring Skills: A natural coach and motivator who builds trust, listens and guides rangatahi to set and achieve realistic goals. You can balance empathy with accountability, helping young people grow in confidence and self-belief.
• Team Focused Approach: You work collaboratively with colleagues to share insights, celebrate successes, and support collective goals. You contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Relationship Builder Across Sectors: Skilled at building connections across education, social services, iwi and community organisations, and local government to ensure wrap-around support for young people.
• Employer Engagement Champion: Confident engaging with local employers to identify opportunities, match candidates, and support sustainable employment outcomes. You understand both youth aspirations and employer needs, bridging the gap between the two.
• Local Know-How:You’re in the know about local industries, youth development, and the socio-economic landscape
• Cultural Awareness:You understand the unique challenges facing youth of different cultures and bring cultural sensitivity to your role. Knowledge of tikanga Māori is a huge plus.
