The new FutureForce® Job Board from Smart Waikato Trust, provides an easy to use digital platform whereby employers post an opportunity which is presented to suitable young people via careers advisors and work brokers.
FutureForce® Job Board is an automated, free to use forum for talented youth to be made aware of workplace opportunities, including work experience, internships, cadetships, apprenticeships or employment. Employers can register suitable work opportunities for young people at www.futureforce.nz, which are then automatically sent to Waikato-based educators (secondary and tertiary) and youth work brokers. Educators and work brokers put forward candidates they think would be a good fit for the opportunity. Employers then select their preferred candidates according to their usual processes.
Smart Waikato's purpose is to empower youth through real education to employment pathways. Smart Waikato Trust is best known for Smart Transitions, Secondary School Employer Partnerships (SSEP), FutureForce® Action Network, and co-ordination of the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) in the region. As part of Smart Transitions, they have developed this exciting new initiative, the FutureForce® Job Board, developed with support from Hamilton City Council.
Mary Jensen, CEO Smart Waikato Trust, is thrilled with the initiative, saying “the value of the FutureForce® Job Board is that it embodies what Smart Transitions is all about – providing a range of opportunities, including employment, but also work experience, internships and cadetships allowing young people to experience the ‘world of work’ which will hopefully lead on to full employment in our region. One of many benefits to employers is that the candidate has already gone through a screening step – the Gateway and/or careers teacher has already identified whether they would be suitable for the opportunity.”
